Sheep, dogs and videotapes

 Okay, so Europe just voted themselves into the muddy Right Wing ditch; Unemployment is going up and up, xenophobia is blooming happily and fear of strangers'ism is now hailed as being a benign form of nationalism and "Oh so necessary" in order to fully protect  "our culture" which apparently can't stand for too much influx of anything unknown or "foreign"? which is a bit weird, for that's exactly, what has been happening since the beginning of time. And also a bit sad, really, in these times of globalization, even to think, that we'll be able to shut down our mental borders and keep everything foreign out of our art, music, language, writing and all things creative, which will only flourish and expand  from a continuing exchange of minds and thoughts.

So.....Things are pretty depressing these days, right?- My good friend Case emailed me this little  clip; and it made me smile and laugh out loud...

Well, then; Hurray for sheep in the night, Border Collies doing their job and men in old wellies and raincoats, whistling in order to micro-control their animals and having a grand time doing it -
      It's all something, which is not very productive for the health of the dolphins or the war in Darfur... But who cares, we can't be dead serious all the time and fuck the recession just for a couple of minutes and let's make a bow for life and lets applaud; dogs and sheep running on the green slopes of hope........

When reality is beyond belief

Do we need a calm voice? A voice which is appalled by the the Israeli brutality ? A voice of compassionate motherhood? After listening to Syria's first lady - Elegant, intelligent and down to earth (She was voted the most stylish woman in Politics by french ELLE magazine - beating their very own Carla Sarkozy)
Well then; ... I believe we do... ;

Now when I'm beginning to loose faith in Obama and my soul is slowly numbing from all the bloody photos, the vivid and graphic videos, of agitated Facebook groups and angry, fanatic Zionist comments...... This interview does give some hope that, sanity can be found out there... but does she have the power to persuade? I doubt it ..... unfortunately....

"A hope beyond the shadow of a dream" - J. Keats

Found this on my friend's great "Wordpress" page.... And she really says it so well, that I have little to add. But she harbours hope for fate of the peoples of Palestine will change with the 44.Th President of America.... I must say, I'm a bit rattled with the announcement of Chief of Staff in the WH...

 So regarding Obama's relationship to Israel and her unjust treatment of Gaza and the Palestinian situation:

If the announcement of  Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff is any indication of things to come, then consider this; Rahm Emanuel is pro-Israel, very much so! Son of a prominent Zionist Benjamin M. Emanuel, former member of Irgun; Terrorists or freedom fighters - depends from which side you see their militant actions. Or just read Seniors reaction to his son's appointment.

And for the latest sad development on the ongoing saga of the Palestinian plight:
 UN has these past days called out for help, because of the fast dwindling supply of food, medicine, fuel or other daily necessities.
Just to harvest their olives and their lands pose a formidable problem... This is no way to treat a whole nation....And I've a hard time, trying to understand, how this can continue day after day against the old, the young and the innocent people of Palestine.
